So today I chatted with my Old Buddy Macaroni and wanted to give him "I Told You So" moment and he did. He's been saying it for awhile. I agree and disagree to a point. Society has killed rivalries I do believe. Basketball has become wrestling. Enemies on screen, Friends off and don't really blame the players or Danny Ainge. This is just flat-out what society allows. It's hard to argue one way or the other for me though I know in real time, if somehow I was a Celtic, where I would have been. I feel like Danny Ainge's statement here spotlights the Celtics hugging the Nets and not showing more anger or malice towards Kyrie, but lets face it, it's the WWF now. Ill still watch no matter what so maybe I'm guilty. Here was my response to Macaroni on my view of it-

"Our generation and older wanted someone to run out and smash Kyrie as he was stepping on Lucky, like Terrell Owens got smashed off the Star when he did the same kind of shit. We wanted our guys waiting outside their locker room kind of shit of the 80’s. That was the way that worked for years to win and it’s how we are all. Kind of. But now when I say I see it different and apply it to myself, I see and know the way I used to solve problems. A quick smash was always the problem solver, most of the time it was for the right reason, defense or whatever. But over time, I got in too much trouble. I had to walk away because someone was going to get hurt and I was going to get in trouble. And people knew that so they antoganize more. Society just kind of softened me because it wasn’t worth it. Our generation wants legitimate vendettas, story lines, entertainment. But at the end of the day for these guys it’s just that! Entertainment. They know that loyalty in sports is gone. They know they could be traded tomorrow. And Vice Versa. I think it’s a different story if Kyrie does that in a game or closer to the end of the game, not when there’s just press and family out there. But I believe that’s the only place I think they are allowed to show heart, in the games and I do believe the current Celtics all do have that on court heart."- Shamrock Sports
