Unbelievable once again. Huge shout to Demarr Langford and Derek Hopkins for getting this one together. I have been trying to get these guys out to chat again and it was a pleasure once again. I learned quite a bit about these guys throughout this chat and I'm glad I have the forum to tell you about it. We combed over topics and I had to shake the rust off the brain after a brief pause in business these last couple weeks. I don't know if it was writer's block or whatever you call it, but the ideas just didn't flow the way they were before. It became quickly clear that was all set the minute these dudes opened their mouth's. We decided early on to review Quinsigamond C.C.'s Championship run and per usual, it became much more.

So let's start with my friend Derek Hopkins. We go way back to little league days and as soon as he started telling me how he landed on this team, it all came back to me. Dee basically walked on to this team, and honestly, that story could be an entire podcast by itself. He explained how he stumbled upon basketball tryouts after a baseball practice. They had coaching issues with the hoops team, so the team was in semi disarray. He worked hard and played the season out, returned the following season, and made the team again. This time he was mixing it up with Demarr Langford, Sammy Addo, and other local studs that were the new coaches recruits. It doesn't shock me at all, it quickly came back who I was talking to. Back in little league, Derek used to spit nails. Shortstop, Catcher, Pitcher...I remember him being competitive to the point of almost mean. He hated to lose and it wasn't like, weakness, it was all heart. Flatout winner. Watched a couple of the clips from this Quinsig run and man, intense defense and can shoot the lights out should have definitely been in his scouting report. Great story teller as well. I did a blog on some writing Dee did a few weeks ago about his good friend and hoops legend, Mike Bradley. Check it out her.

Next, I'd like to thank my friend Demarr. I had to give my guy two pics in this blog of him flying. He mentioned dunking on peoples heads and this shit makes me laugh. This is all I ever saw in the newspaper when he played. To be honest, I never had a goal setup when I started this project and who knows the value now, but I could have shut this down the day after I met this dude and called it a success. Just a good hearted, loyal, hardworking guy that will dunk on you if he so chooses. Honestly, I've yet to hear a negative word out of his mouth about anyone or anything. The love this dude has for his former teammates, I can already tell I would walk into hell with him. I keep using the term brotherhood, and he is the epitome. He rounded up some other guys from the team and this was the experience we have been catching that is the entire value. I've never met Prince Baez, or Luis Ojeda, but Demarr brought these guys in and they were both fantastic. Hit Em Hard Rashad Minor came through immediately after hearing some shit talk about Luis having 23 in a game against Becker, who Rashad dominated for lol This was some funny banter. Was some talk about them beating Becker with four players. I'm happy Rashad stayed with us for awhile on this chat, he always has that entire screen laughing. Loved seeing all these guys together, reminiscing, laughing, and most of all Bullshitting. The best part about this one was after the show, I spoke to a few of the guests and each said the same pretty much...Could have chatted all night, we'll do it again soon! Much Love guys and Ty. Just seeing you guys on a Zoom chatting makes me wonder what those days were like. Envy. The world has been through some tough times and I'm glad relationships and smiles like these continue through future generations. Stay tuned for the next OldSkool508 Hoops Edition Part 3. This is by far my favorite topic and I look forward to many more.

Oh and PS. Shout to Marty Palermo who was also on that team and popped in like the Wolf of Wall Street on a Yacht with no audio. Just showed up, drop 2 minutes of video selfies and bounced. Mic Dropped! Hahahaha
